Clarke County central dispatch received a call about a structure fire off of County Road 625 at 5:50 a.m. Friday.
The call was made by a neighbor who saw the fire.
Several volunteer fire departments responded to the call, including Theadville, Carmichael, Matherville and Shubuta.
Fire coordinator Eddie Ivy says the house was owned by a 60-year-old female.
"Upon arrival we found the structure fully involved," said Ivy. "We did discover a body inside the structure. That person has been sent to the crime lab in Jackson for an autopsy. The name has not been released until a positive identification has been made."
Ivy says no foul play is suspected at this time.
It's the third fatal fire in Clarke County in less than a month.
