Meridian, Miss. Meridian native Cheryl Luquire opened for Ronnie Dunn at the MSU Riley Center Friday night.
Luquire graduated from Lamar School in Meridian in 2005, and later from Belmont University in Nashville.
For the last few years, she's been singing and songwriting in Nashville, many times with her husband of one year, Adam Stark. She says it was exciting to come back to sing for her hometown. It's her first time on the Riley Center stage. "We loved it," said Luquire. "It's always a small mix when it's just acoustic guitar and vocal, but maybe one day we'll get to come back and do a full band show here."
Luquire just released her self-titled LP this week. "Cheryl Luquire" is available on iTunes and Amazon.com.
