Choctaw, Miss. The Choctaw Indian Fair is back for its 64th edition this year.
Since the fair began in 1949, it has grown to be the biggest cultural celebration for the Choctaw in Mississippi.
The Choctaw want to share their heritage with visitors from all over the country with arts and crafts, dancing, cultural demonstrations and the princess pageant.
"Choctaw Indian Fair gives us a chance to be able to display our culture," said project manager Fred Willis. "It allows us the opportunity to show the outside world that we have pride in our culture. We get to show that and see this is who we are. We are Choctaw, and we welcome you. "
The fair is officially July 10-13, but the stickball games have already begun.
Duck Dynasty fans will also have the chance to see Uncle Si Robertson, who is making an appearance at the fair Saturday, July 13.
Tickets are now on sale for the 64th Choctaw Indian Fair and the Duck Dynasty Experience.
Pre-sale air season tickets can be purchased at the Pearl River Resort Welcome Center from now until Sunday, July 7 at 2012 prices: $15 adult season and $10 student season.
Monday, July 8, prices for air season tickets will be $20 adult season and $10 student season.
Duck Dynasty tickets will be sold at the Welcome Center for $10, while supplies last. You may purchase tickets on-site or place orders over the phone with a credit card. The “Hey Jack” hotline number is 601-650-1625.
