Chief James Lee was found to be operating an offensive work environment back in February. Last week, Councilman Thomas expressed his concern for the lack of disciplinary action by the mayor. Yesterday, the mayor announced that he is suspending the chief for five days. And now Councilman Thomas says he is only partially satisfied.

"I'm concerned why it took two months to take action on a charge that the letter was written the first week of February. Here it is almost April before a decision was made. Is this decision going to be enough?" Councilman Thomas questions.

Councilman Thomas says he's not sure whether a week's suspension will be strong enough punishment. The mayor says while chief lee is out, Assistant Chief James Sharpe is leading the MPD.
