Meridian Police and Great Southern National Bank have a word of warning about a new scam.
There is an automated call that customers are receiving that says their Visa debit card has been compromised. To receive a new card you are asked to press one, then enter the card information.
Meridian's Public Information Officer Mike Vick says there is one thing to always keep in mind.
"There's never a time where a bank that owns your card is going to request personal information from you over the phone," says Vick, "They already have your information."
If you have any questions about this scam, you can call 601-485-0949 or 1-800-528-2273.
