The Temple Theater held the Mississippi Roots Music Film Festival and Symposium on Sunday afternoon.
The festival featured three films. One centered around Meridian's Jimmie Rodgers, another highlighted the life of Elvis, and one showed Mississippi's network of surviving juke joints. Rick Courtney says it's important that everyone learns how all of this different music fits together.
The film makers spent months preparing their films for the festival.
