Prices are now only about a cent per gallon higher than they were this time last year. Prices are about 25 cents lower since this time last month.
Experts say despite problems caused by Hurricane Sandy, prices have dropped nationwide.
The average price for regular unleaded gas in both Mississippi and Alabama is at $3.25 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com. The national average is about $3.50 per gallon.
