Jackson police are running tests on two weapons that may be linked to the shooting death of a 19-year-old Jackson State University student at an off-campus pool party.
Police spokeswoman Colendula Green said officers early Sunday found the body of 19-year-old Nolan Ryan Henderson, III, of Atlanta, lying on a walkway inside the Palisades Apartments.
Henderson reportedly lived on campus but was attending a pool party at the apartment complex. He was shot one time.
While the police have been mostly silent on what took place, Assistant Chief Lee Vance told The Clarion-Ledger that police have two weapons.
Vance says ballistics tests from the bullet removed from the victim are ongoing, and test results are expected by early next week.
