The suspect in a Sunday shooting outside a club near Silas, Ala., appeared before a judge Thursday. Cedrick Jones, 20, of Waynesboro, Miss., is charged with gunning down 19-year-old Brandarius Hill in the parking lot of the Selebras Sports Bar in Silas. Jones is also facing an additional charge.

Newscenter 11 asked Jones if he had anything to say.

"I want justice," said Jones. (Reporter: Are you guilty?) "No ma'am, I'm innocent."

However, Choctaw County officials say they feel confident they have the right person in custody.

"In addition, we do have part of the weapon that was used," said Choctaw County Sheriff Tom Abate. "Apparently during the shooting, this part fell off. So, we can definitely identify that weapon as being an AK-47."

Abate says more than 45 shell casings from the semi-automatic assault rifle were found at the site, along with 15 rounds from a 9 millimeter handgun. He said new developments in the investigation led to the additional charge.

"We discovered that after several individuals had left the club, their vehicle had been shot into. It had been occupied by at least three people," said Abate. "We have a statement from at least two of them that allegedly shot, went through the vehicle they were parked in and into another vehicle."

Sheriff Abate says more arrests are definitely expected. He says how soon that happens will depend largely on how long it takes to secure needed evidence.

"A lot of the people that we want to interview are in Mississippi, and we can't pick them up until we have arrest warrants for them," Abate said. "The hospitals are located in Mississippi. Recovering evidence from the hospital, these are all challenges, but they are challenges we can meet."

The two individuals who were injured in the incident are still recovering.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Choctaw County Sheriff's Department at 205-459-2166, or their local authorities.
