The Annual Kentucky Ham Meal of First Christian Church is a decades long tradition.
The 2-day event raises money for missions. Church officials expect to serve over 3,000 meals.
Patrons may eat at the church or get their meal to-go.
"I would say that, you know, Christ came to serve and not be served and that He used the table as His platform for hospitality and care and compassion," said the Rev. Tom Sikes, pastor of First Christian Church. "And that's what we're trying to do as well for Meridian and Lauderdale County."
The cost of a plate is $7.00. Serving continues Wednesday, 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
