The town of Kosciusko has adopted a ban on sagging plants.
The Star Herald reports that the wearing of sagging pants was added recently to the town's ordinance prohibiting public indecency. The ordinance takes effect Oct. 18.
The city began talking about taking action on the issue in August and had reviewed several other municipalities' ordinances on the matter.
Kosciusko Mayor Jimmy Cockroft says there is a lot of public support for the ordinance. The board of aldermen adopted the ordinance Sept. 18.
In the ordinance, sagging pants are defined as appearing to wear pants or skirts more than three inches below the top of the hips exposing the skin or undergarments.
