The Neshoba Democrat reports that Philadelphia school superintendent, Dr. Terry Larabee, has agreed to resign. It cited the school board as its source, following an executive session Monday.
The board says Larabee gave up the remainder of his contract and any potential legal action in the future.
The newspaper reported that the school board said the professional relationship between the district and Larabee "has reached a point where both parties agree that different directions should be taken at this time for the future benefit of the children of the Philadelphia Public School District."
Larabee has been on administrative leave since Sept. 4.
Newscenter 11 reported weeks ago that Philadelphia police had confirmed responding to a call at Larabee's home where the superintendent was briefly detained, but not arrested or charged with anything.
