Pennington, Ala. The town of Pennington, Alabama hosted its 10th Annual Pennington Day on Saturday.

There were tons of games, food, and music for the big event. It was a great day for visitors to come visit Pennington and have a great time with family and friends. People came from as far as Meridian to take part in this event. The mayor of Pennington, Edward Manuel, and Coordinator Teresia Cherry say it's all about the children and the people of the community.

"It means a lot to me, seeing the people here in Pennington and other places coming to enjoy looking at the young people, enjoying the water and different things we have going for them," Mayor Manuel said. "Today means a lot to me because it is about the people."

"We mostly do this for the kids to get the kids and the parents together in the town of Pennington and come out," Cherry said. "I'm just glad to be here today, and glad everything worked out as well as it did. All of the vendors came out and I know its hot, but we are going to do this today for our babies."

The town of Pennington has a Parks and Recreation Board that helped put this together and organizers hope it gets even better next year.
