Meridian, Miss. Local experts say robberies and shootings in our area can actually stem from domestic violence within the offender's home.
Leslie Payne, executive director of Care Lodge, tells our John Johnson when someone grows up and witnesses a family member abusing another family member, that can lead to future violence.
"We have to teach our young people that violence is not the way to handle a situation," Payne stresses. "That they don't always have to quote, win. They don't always have to be in control."
If you are ever in a situation where you need assistance, you can call the Care Lodge Crisis Line at 601-693-HOPE.
