The state high school basketball playoffs begin this week in Mississippi, and the Meridian High boys team could be without its head coach.
The Meridian Public School System announced Monday that Randy Bolden had been placed on leave in this press release.
“An incident occurred last week between Coach Randy Bolden and a parent. Coach Bolden was placed on administration leave pending an investigation.”
The Wildcats, ranked fourth in the state, are set to open the division tournament against Petal at Petal Tuesday night, with the championship game slated for Friday.
Bolden has been coach at MHS since 2007 and has had a very impressive run, including a state championship in 2011.
Assistant coach Tony Tadlock will serve as interim head coach.
