Meridian, Mississippi One portion of Meridian High School is a little more colorful now thanks to a special student project.
A brand new mural was unveiled Thursday night in the school's activities building. Students from a small learning community spent the past few months working on the project, thanks to a $500 grant from the Meridian Arts Council. This is one of six murals on campus that relates to different subject matters around the school.
"A lot of work," according to Marsha Iverson, Visual Arts Chair. "The students worked so hard. It was all student driven, which is what our small learning communities are designed to do. Where students actually do real world jobs, real world experience."
The murals around the campus of Meridian High School were voted on by department heads there.
