Mississippi State Meridian Campus is working to connect better with the community.
MSU officials met Monday with mayors and county supervisors from across east Mississippi. The purpose was to inform them about what is happening at the college and find out it can better help them in what they are trying to do.
"The role of MSU Meridian was established at the time it was founded, and a big part of that role is to interact with the entire southeastern Mississippi region," said dean, Dr. Steve Brown. "That's part of our mission that may be a little different from most major universities, and we take it very seriously."
This was the first meeting of its kind between MSU Meridian and community leaders. Among the items on the agenda were current degree programs and in-state tuition for Alabama residents
