Neshoba County, Mississippi Neshoba County Sheriff's Investigator Kevin Basinger says a man taken into custody earlier Thursday in a stabbing death has now been released.
Authorities say an early morning domestic dispute led to the stabbing of 49-year old Catherine Thomas. Basinger says Thomas was stabbed with a kitchen knife during the dispute about 4 a.m. Thursday. When authorities were called to the home about 10 a.m., Thomas was dead. James Horne was taken into custody, but later released. Horne, who suffered scrapes and bruises, told investigators the stabbing was in self defense. Basinger says Horne's case will go before the next grand jury.
