Newton County, Miss. A man shot by a Newton County deputy was hospitalized Wednesday after the incident.
The Newton County Appeal reports the man's wounds are not considered to be life threatening.
Authorities told the newspaper the shooting happened when a deputy, whose name was not released, responded to a domestic disturbance call on Lawrence-Hazel Road about 8 a.m.
The deputy will be on paid administrative leave while the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations reviews the case.
