Meridian Head Start gave its annual contribution of canned goods to LOVE's Kitchen Friday.
The agency does this every year as part of its male initiative, where they teach the boys at Head Start it's better to give than to receive, and that no matter how young they are, they can make a difference in the community.
"We're glad to get the men involved, to get the little boys involved; they're going to grow up to be men," said LOVE's Kitchen director Fannie Johnson. "Sometimes the girls help out a little bit more, but it's great to get the whole community involved, females, males, everybody. Everybody has been involved and LOVE's Kitchen wants to send out a great big thank you to the whole community."
Johnson says the donation will help LOVE's Kitchen make it through the holiday season.
