Meridian, Miss. Two Meridian Police officers were treated at a local hospital Monday night, after they were injured during a call.
Police Spokesman Lt. John Griffith says the officers had been called to a disturbance involving a mentally ill person, who assaulted the officers. The incident happened a little after 7:00 p.m. on 30th Avenue. The officers were treated for what's believed to be minor injuries. Griffith says one officer suffered an eye injury and the other officer's shoulder was injured. The names of the officers were not released.
