Meridian Public Schools Thursday honored employees who are retiring from the District. Today's reception was at the new Multi-Purpose building on the campus of Meridian High. Superintendent Dr. Alvin Taylor says nine dedicated educators and staff members are retiring. He says what they have done for the district and it's students can't be measured, "We need dedicated people; dedicated educators, support staff, to work in our schools. It's not just a job to me, it's a calling, and these people truly illustrate that." Dr. Taylor says the nine retirees represent a combined 301 years of service.
