Meridian Trick-or-Treating

The city of Meridian says trick-or-treating will go on as scheduled Thursday night, rain or shine.

The city says extra police officers will be out in force to make sure things go smoothly.

Cultural affairs coordinator, Casey Null, says there are indoor activities planned at various locations.

"We don't have a contingency plan set in place. I do know there are several churches having fall festivals. The mall is having their event that they host every year," said Null. "So there are other things that people can participate in. And we've looked at the weather and the hope is that it will hold off until after eight o'clock."

Trick or treating within the city of Meridian is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Bonita Lakes Mall's indoor Trick or Treat Event Thursday starts at 6 p.m. (while supplies last) for children 12 and younger. Several stores are participating. The mall asks that adults and children over 12 not wear masks/costumes.
