Hundreds filled the chairs in front of Meridian's Doughboy Monument. Hundreds more stood filling the streets, all to show their support of our veterans.
Ken Storms said he was moved by the large crowd.
"I came back here because Meridian still has a Veterans Day Parade," said Storms, a retired Navy officer and pilot. "They still have a VFW, an American Legion group, Fleet reserve organization, a disabled veterans organization. They had all this stuff and it still meant something to them. We had 250 chairs set up; we brought out more chairs and we still had so many standing. It was standing room only. So it is just great."
Many of the veterans present say they were happy to see the large crowd. Many younger veterans were also present, along with their families.
All branches of the military were represented during the ceremony.
For the bright and brave young men and women who serve our country now, and for those that have served in the past, we thank you.
