A group of Mississippi Power employees volunteered to help feed the hungry in Meridian.
Nine members of the company's Community Connection Group from the Kemper County coal plant were eager to step up and do whatever needed to be done at Love's Kitchen.
MPC district manager Verdell Hawkins says this is just a small way of saying thank you.
"Our employees love this because it goes beyond the regular routine of what we do on a daily basis," said Hawkins. "It's their way of giving back to the communities that have given so much to us. We've all benefited from this area, from the churches to the philanthropic organizations in this area. So this is our way to be an asset to the community."
Love's Kitchen serves more than three hundred meals a day to those in this area.
