NAS Meridian Welcomes New Commodore


Meridian, Mississippi NAS Meridian's Training Air Wing One welcomed a new Commodore on Wednesday during a Change of Command ceremony.

Captain Brian Goszkowicz relieves Captain William Sheehan, who is moving on to become commanding officer of the Navy Operational Support Center in Houston, Texas. Goszkowicz earned his "Wings of Gold" at NAS Meridian back in 1992. Naval students at Training Air Wing One learn how to fly the T-45 Goshawk.

"It's a great pipeline that gives them the foundation that they need to be naval aviators and specifically tail-hook aviators going out there, asking those guys to do what our nation has called upon them to do," Captain Goszkowicz said.

During his military career, Goszkowicz has flown more than 25 aircraft, 3,500 hours of flight, and flown in 72 combat missions.
