No Cause Found for Strange Smell at School

Cuba, Ala.

Officials in Sumter County say they found no problems after a strong smell caused one of the schools there to close early Monday.

Kinterbish Junior High School in Cuba closed about 11:30 a.m. after people began to smell an unusual odor.

Superintendent Katie Jones Powell says the heating and cooling systems were checked and no problems were identified.

The school is expected to be open for its regular schedule Tuesday.
