Friends and family say the curtain will never fall on the legacy Jimmy Pigford left for the local arts community. He was the resident director of Meridian Little Theatre for fifty years.
Pigford died Monday at the age of 80. He was buried Thursday.
Pigford's life was celebrated at MLT Thursday evening, where he spent so much of his time. He was working on his final directorial project, Steel Magnolias, when he suffered a fall and had to be hospitalized.
He was remembered fondly by many of the board members, actors and crew members who had worked with him over the decades,
Pigford gave Meridian native and actress Sela Ward her first role.
