Meridian, Miss. Nineteen students at Meridian Community College experienced a traditional pinning ceremony Friday. The class completed its training in practical nursing.
The next step is a state licensing exam. If they pass, they'll earn their LPN license and will be eligible to work in a variety of health care settings.
The coordinator of MCC's practical nursing program says the students completed a lot of hard work to earn this pin.
"The pin symbolizes the dedication and commitment that the students have had in their nursing education," said Lara Collum. "It's a very rigorous program, and it just symbolizes them reaching the completion of that program and they can wear that pin with pride."
The students have spent almost one thousand hours with the program in class, lab, and clinical work.
