Police Investigate Shooting

Meridian police are investigating a shooting Sunday night in Highland Park.

Police confirm some type of altercation preceded the gunfire around 7:30 Sunday night.

Both a vehicle in the park and a house across the street were hit, but there were no injuries.

Lt. Dean Harper says apparently two groups were involved.

"At this time we are working with what we have, interviewing who we can, and the case is under investigation," said Lt. Dean Harper.

Harper says police don't have a viable description of any suspect or suspects.
