Preparations Underway for Run for the Wall

Meridian, Miss. Organizers are getting prepared for this year's Run for the Wall, which will take place on May 19th.

The Run for the Wall involves men and women that ride motorcycles from California to Washington D.C. to raise awareness for the recovery of all soldiers missing in action. The riders will arrive in Meridian on five that evening at the Lauderdale County Agricenter. This year, the meal for the riders will be cooked at the Agricenter, and a trailer will be brought in where they can do their laundry on site. The community is encouraged to support the riders.

"We'd like them to support it in a way of coming up and actually speaking to the riders, thanking them for their service and just talking to them, said Run for the Wall committee chairman Jim Swartz.

One of the biggest fundraisers for the Run for the Wall, the Poker Run, is coming up on May 3rd. If you would like to make a donation for food and other items for the riders, you can call 601-938-0392.
