Residents of Queen City Nursing Center may not be able to go out for a big celebration tonight....but that doesn't mean they don't enjoy Valentine's Day.

The Queen City staff threw an afternoon tea for the residents to help them observe Valentine's Day. They get a lively party that includes decorations and live music.
Activities director Chandra Collier says she and others wanted to show love and appreciation for the patients.

"We try to bring back these special days," said Collier. "You know, let them know that, to collect memories and go back and to the old times, make them think they're still young again."

Queen City Nursing Center also selects a king and queen for the occasion. This year the honorees are Robert Smith and Mary Cintron.
