Quitman, Miss. Mayoral candidates in Quitman took part in a debate Tuesday night.
Challenger Chris Reeves and incumbent Mayor Eddie Fulton faced off at Quitman's Multi-Purpose building. State Rep. William Shirley was the moderator.
Event organizer Jim Crapse says the debate was important because people can see what kind of role a candidate would play in the community.
"Any time we have a chance to bring our elected officials or potential elected officials in front of a group of people, so they can present their role, it's to our benefit. Because we can see them as the true leader or manager they really are versus a one-on-one interview," said Crapse.
More than 75 Quitman residents turned out for the debate.
