A local student was honored by her school for a national award she recently won.
Lamar Elementary student Allison Stewart was recognized for being the state winner in the national Doodle for Google contest.
Her artwork was showcased in front of the school.
"I went to Tampa with my dad and I saw this big dinosaur and it looked exactly like that, so I thought to make a baby one," said Allison Stewart.
"We do this to celebrate creativity and artistic talent all across the U.S.," said Google marketing manager Kate Pacher. "Those are things that are really important to us at Google and we want to celebrate those qualities in young people too."
Doodle for Google is a national art contest sponsored by Google each year.
