A new building on the campus of a local community college has been named after its president.
A dedication ceremony was held at East Mississippi Community College on Saturday for the new 41,000-square-foot Scooba student union, named in honor of current EMCC President Dr. Rick Young.
"The honor of having a building named after you is just the height of anyone's career," Young says. "And especially to have one named after you while you are still alive to see it is even more special."
EMCC's main campus is Scooba is just one of three campuses the college currently operates.
