Meridian, Miss. Saturday night was the fourth annual Rose Hill Cemetery Tour in Meridian.
Years of research and more than 100 volunteers came together to make this tour possible. Players dress up and tell the story, in first person, of the lives of many key Meridianites through history. Organizers were expecting the largest crowd ever with 2,000 to 3,000 visitors. Event coordinators attribute that to the beautiful weather and fantastic storytelling that has grown throughout the years.
"These are real stories," according to Anne McKee, tour director. "These are real people that lived in Meridian in this area. And the entire history of Meridian is not here, but a great deal is here."
The event was free of charge.
