Owners of a local flea market have been up and running for close to a month. They're now preparing for the grand opening of the store.
Penny's Lil Flea Market is located in Marion on Highway 45 North. The flea market officially opened August 2nd, but owners are gearing up for the store's grand opening the first weekend of October. That will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Penny Kennedy is the owner of the flea market. She says there are 18 vendors at the store.
"The vendors come in and they rent the spaces. They bring in their own merchandise. We have wonderful vendors. They've got such a huge variety. Every vendors got something different. So it's just a huge variety to come in and look at. So there's just something for everyone. "
Kennedy says the vendors provide a wide variety of items. Some of those items include costume jewelry and decorative items.
"One thing is the building. And just coming in where it's nice and cool. You can shop. We've got anything from glassware, we have China, we have flatware, we have furniture, antiques, collectibles, we just have so much it's hard to name everything," describes Kennedy.
