Did someone below complain about the "Meridian skyline". Get real and know your place. Meridian is a small town and always will be. Mayor is doing the best job that can be done with the personnel and citizens she has.

Great job Mayor! It is hard to understand why Bobby Smith, Mary Perry and Jessie Palmer want help with the budget too. $107,000 is a whole lot of money. What is it they don't get. If this attitude persist - I will change my vote in three years.

i love what mayor barry is doing and she should be the mayor for the next 20 years. she is not doing anything that obama is not doing. mayor, keep up the good work you are doing and when you speak with obama, tell him to do the same

Our Mayor is doing an excellent job! I hope she will consider a second term when it is time. She cares about all of Meridian's citizens and it is time for people to stop criticizing and start doing your part to make this city a great place to live. Teamwork Works! That is the key to success.

just please stop killing every chance the city has to progress. what is the thought process? "ohh.. this may eventually bring revenue and jobs or perhaps allow meridian to offer future generations. i better put a stop to it..." is it really worth "renovating" the old sears building to house law enforcement rather than build a new facility? even laurel has a decent police complex. let's just stick it in a musty old department store and call it state-of-the-art. then let's tear down what little skyline there is one building at a time... i am not saying she is single-handedly killing the city, but she's sure not fighting for the businesses/citizens that constitute it. as long as the people that matter have their money coming to them, i suppose it doesn't matter if the rest of the city remains stagnant.
