Norma L. Fields, who spent nearly three decades covering state politics, feature stories and other news for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, died Sunday. She was 86.
A daughter, Victoria Fields, says her mother died at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief hospitalization.
Norma Fields worked in northern Mississippi for the Tupelo-based newspaper before moving to Jackson in 1975 to cover state politics. She retired in 1988.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Tupelo. Family and friends say Fields donated her body to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Survivors include five children.
