Sheriff Mancuso also says investigators believe 52-year-old Lee Roy Williams, Jr., who had lived recently in Meridian, Miss., acted alone.
The sheriff described the killings of Crystal Dawn Fruge, Jessica M. Eugene, Terry Lynn Banks and Kendrick Warren Lavergne as "brutal murders." But Mancuso says he cannot yet say how they were killed, to avoid influencing possible witnesses.
Mancuso also says Williams may have sold or traded some important evidence soon after Sept. 3.
The sheriff asks anyone who bought from or traded with Williams to bring the item or items, which he wouldn't describe, to their local police or to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.
