The incident led to a high-speed chase, involving two cars and two counties.
At points, the chase exceeded 100 miles an hour. The 3.5 mile chase from Wal-Mart ended in front of the Golden Moon Casino. Two of the three suspects were taken into custody.
"The Gunn subject, he stole a vehicle from a maintenance crew and another pursuit started at that point where we ended up in Leake County," said Philadelphia Police Chief Richard Sistrunk.
The third suspect left the car in a driveway and fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later.
The trio is identified as 23-year-old Bennie Lee Gunn, of Jackson, Miss.; Chasity Nicole Davis, 25, of Lena, Miss.; and 18-year-old Dantae Evans, of Jackson.
Authorities say they recovered guns they believe the suspects used in the carjackings.
Aside form the charges the three are facing with the city of Philadelphia, Neshoba County and the city of Carthage, Chief Sistrunk says at least one of the suspects could also be charged with a weekend shooting death in Jackson.
