The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians is hosting an event called Choctaw Expressions, a cultural arts festival featuring traditional arts and crafts.
Guests are able to join in Choctaw social dancing, do crafts, and watch Choctaw people make traditional items like stickball sticks, clothing, bead work and baskets.
"This is for other people that may still think we live in tee pees," said Phyllis McMillan, language and culture coordinator. "It's to update them and and teach them our culture and traditions. "
The event will include several guests speakers talking about Choctaw culture. It continues at the Choctaw Museum through Friday.
