A few community leaders are announcing the completion of some renovations. The public Sunday had the chance to see the updates.

The second floor of the Clarke County Courthouse has been renovated. The public toured the building Sunday afternoon during an open house from 2-4p.m.

Some of the many changes to the second floor include a new ceiling and a new floor.

According to Beth Jordan, the Clarke County Circuit Clerk, the update was needed.

"This courtroom has been out of use for close to ten or twelve years now. With the increase in cases that we are seeing, we do have a need for two courtrooms. For about ten or twelve years now, we've had to stagger our terms with circuit and chancery. We weren't able to have both courts going on at the same time," says Jordan.

Tony Fleming is the Clarke County Supervisor for District 5. He says there were many discoveries made during the renovations. He describes one of them.

"All of these windows were blocked up. You couldn't see out of them. We were able to take out the blocks and restore all of these windows and we've got a door that opens up to the balcony. We had a lot of things covered up that we were able to bring back to life," says Fleming.

According to Fleming, the project was done within budget. Officials did not have to borrow any money.

Hey Tommy... only someone so ignorant to believe that Edgar Ray needs to be freed would post something so idiotic. I, along with anyone else who has read your tripe, is now dumber for having read it. I bet you're real proud of your 6th grade education.
