The Philadelphia business community was honored Monday night at the Community Development Partnership's Annual Banquet.
The banquet was held at the Neshoba County Coliseum. President David Vowell says this is an opportunity for the group to say thank you. He says the recession has been hard on the community, but he's hopeful things are getting better.
"Philadelphia and Neshoba County we've had some tough last several months. Unemployment dropped down to 8.1 percent. We still have an awful lot of challenges in front of us. I know the city and the county and the reservation are working really hard to see if we can't get this thing turned around and keep it turned around," said Vowell.
The chamber of commerce started in 1954 as a voluntary organization of business and professional people.
