As part of WTOK Night at the Queen City Fair in Meridian, WTOK sponsored a talent contest Thursday night.

"Meridian's Got Talent" was held for its third year at the fair. This year over 30 people participated. Performances included a variety of country music as well as impersonations of Michael Jackson and Toby Keith and a performance of a heavy metal love song.

Jason Bateman, who is a Toby Keith impersonator, participated in the contest and told us "Having performed at different areas around the state, I find that a crowd with participation areas, I think it actually gives you a chance to believe in your dreams and get out there and see yourself perform. I think it's great to have something like this to actually have stage time."

WTOK's own Jessica Dealy was joined by Scotty Ray and Debbie from B-103 Radio to judge the contest.

The first place winner was the team of Marisa Potate and Ben Stokes. Coming in second place was Tyler Torgerson. Third place was Aa'Kella Hudnall. The winner received gift cards to Mississippi Music. Congratulations to all of the participants.
