Meridian, Miss. Caustic Crossfit, a local gym in Meridian, hosted the "Garage Games" on Sunday.
The games are widely varying challenges for individuals and teams, for which 120 competitors showed up for. These games require the highest level of physical fitness. The training for the Garage Games requires high levels of strength, endurance, cardio, and even gymnastic abilities in order to be successful.
"Well text book definition is: Constantly varied function movement performed at high intensity, but basically in the competitive realm it's a lot of fun because as an athlete you have to prepare for any and everything they might throw at you, so anything athletic," athlete Michelle Kinney says. "So it can involve heavy weight lifting, gymnastic movements or endurance movements and it's all kind of fair game in what you might be forced to do. "
The next event will take place at the State Games in June of next year.
