U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker has met with President Obama's pick for the U.S. Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor.
Wicker says they discussed her judicial philosophy and her record on topics such as the Second Amendment and abortion.
"I remain deeply concerned by her appointment but will reserve a final judgment until after the Senate has a full, fair and vigorous debate on her nomination," Wicker said.
Confirmation hearings begin July 13. If confirmed, Sotomayor would be the first Hispanic and the third woman to serve on the nation's highest court.
