A month-long fugitive sweep has resulted in the arrest of 232 violent offenders in Mississippi.
Operation FALCON 2009, led by the U.S. Marshal Service working in conjunction with other federal, state and local law enforcement, conducted during the month of June focused on the Jackson, Hattiesburg and Gulf Coast areas.
Of the arrests, about 100 were in the Jackson area, 21 in the Hattiesburg area and 111 in the coastal areas.
Operation FALCON is a national effort. It's the six one in this area, but the first time it has been a month-long effort.
