MSU Meridian has a program that may be of interest to those who frequently work with the elderly.
The school is offering a certificate of gerontology, which is the study of aging.
The certificate is designed to complement another degree or profession. It can be especially helpful to those working in the medical field.
"We just want to get the word out that this is available," said Dr. Dennis Mitchell, chair of the Arts and Sciences Division. "It's a real community need because this is a certified retirement community."
Registration is by appointment for MSU Meridian's fall semester, through the end of July. To make an appointment, you may call 601-484-0100.
