Pearl police have charged a 33-year-old father with capital murder for allegedly causing the injuries that led to the death of his 2-month-old son.
Michael Voyles of Pearl is being held at the Rankin County Jail without bond. Authorities say Voyles was arrested Tuesday in the death of Elisha Voyles.
Police Chief Ben Schuler said Elisha Voyles was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center on Sunday. The infant died Monday.
Rankin County coroner Jimmy Roberts said an autopsy revealed his death was a homicide. He said there were signs of trauma on Elisha's body and head.
